Deze ochtend ontbijten we maar op onze kamer. Gelukkig hadden we nog flesjes jus d’orange en wat crackers.
Na het uitchecken staat ons een lange rit voor de boeg: we gaan namelijk naar Bakersfield. Maar dan wel met een route via de Death Valley. Het is een ritje van ruim 6 uur.
Death Valley viel een beetje tegen, werkelijk een dooie boel. We hadden ons er iets meer van verwacht. Wat precies weten we eigenlijk niet, maar het was in ieder geval erg teleurstellend.
Toen we tegen de avond in ons hotel aankwamen, besloten we een duik te nemen in het zwembad. Helaas was de zon bijna weg en het water te koud om in te zwemmen. Dan maar aankleden en op naar de shopping mall. Hier hebben we even rondgelopen en gegeten.
‘s Avonds in de hotelkamer was het even tijd om alle foto’s online te gooien en wat verslagen te plaatsen.
Net op het moment dat we wilde gaan slapen nog even via Facetime gebeld met moeders. Wat een uitvinding die iPad. We gebruiken hem echt heel intensief. Vooral de Google maps is heel erg ideaal in de steden die we bezoeken.
