Al een aantal jaar probeer ik naast mijn ene hobby een andere te ontwikkelen: rennen. Nadat ik in Amerika was geweest en daar iedereen zag hardlopen had ik het idee dit ook te gaan doen. Mooie schoenen uit Amerika meegenomen en thuis meteen aan de slag. De eerste keren kwam ik niet verder dan kruipend drie kilometer vol te lopen. Zo waren er steeds weer korte periodes in het jaar dat ik het een aantal keren achter elkaar volhield om te lopen. Na deze periodes vond ik altijd wel weer een smoes om er mee te stoppen: kou, donker…
Half februari dit jaar heb ik voor de zoveelste keer weer een poging gewaagd om het hardlopen op te pakken. Door de frisse moed die ik toen had en de zin die bleef, ben ik nu nog steeds aan het rennen. Ik probeer echt twee keer per week de schoenen aan te trekken, maar met mijn volle agenda ben ik blij dat dit mij één keer in de week lukt.
Inmiddels zit ik aan de 7 kilometer. Ik loop nog niet in een flink tempo, maar ik ben al zo trots op mij zelf dat ik de 7 kilometer uit kan lopen. Afgelopen keren helaas wel wat lichamelijke klachten (lees gigantische spierpijn in de kuiten) waardoor ik tussendoor echt even moest rekken en strekken.
Conditioneel gaat het mij goed af en moet ik er toch binnenkort aan geloven om mijn snelheid een beetje op te voeren. Maar het belangrijkste voor mij is toch wel dat ik lekker bezig ben…
