Dit heeft wel als gevolg dat het enger is. “Maar ook heel lekker. Je voelt de zaal. Je voelt hoe ze overal op reageren. Ik heb het gevoel dat het makkelijker is om te ontroeren op zo’n kleine afstand.” Volgens haar kan men in het M-Lab kleiner spelen en meer laten zien wat er in de spelers omgaat. “Eigenlijk vind ik dit heel leker. Het kan mij niet klein genoeg zijn.”
Hoofdrol of understudy?
“Understudy!” Afgelopen jaar heeft Elise voor het eerst ervaring opgedaan als understudy in de rol van Luisa in de musical Zorro. In deze rol was zij understudy van Michelle Splietelhof. “Dat is mij goed bevallen. Ik had het geluk dat ik een hele leuke ensembleplek had.” Elise vindt het dragen van een hoofdrol vrij zwaar en een grote verantwoordelijkheid. “Ik was vrij kritisch naar mezelf toe, dus ik vond het best zwaar. Als je understudy bent dan ga je elke keer als je opgaat er helemaal voor.”
Homo of hetero?
“Ik ben hetero.” Elise is zo gewend aan homo’s om zich heen en kijkt daar niet meer van op. “Ik heb geen problemen met homo’s. Maar ik kan me voorstellen dat als ik op vrouwen zou vallen dat dat enorm heftig zou zijn. Vind maar eens een vrouw. De homo’s zijn zo ernorm vertegenwoordigd, maar vrouwen die op vrouwen vallen kom je minder tegen. Het lijkt mij best lastig om daar een match in te vinden.”
Ja Zanna of nee Zanna?
Heel stellig antwoordt Elise met “nee Zanna”. Zij geeft aan dat Zanna erg begint bij het creeeren van de wereld en begint heel erg uit de norm en wijkt daar niet vanaf. “Dat is het moment dat mijn personage op een jongen valt. Dat kan niet in zijn wereld. Uiteindelijk is hij wel degene die zich er voor openstelt. Maar zoals hij begint, denk ik, ‘nee Zanna, zo moet het ook niet’.”
