Het hotel waar wij momenteel in overnachten heeft geen ontbijt bij de overnachting inbegrepen. Voor โฌ12 kan je wel ontbijt kopen, maar voor รฉรฉn croissant en een glas jus gaat dat tegen mijn principe. We halen ons ontbijt dus bij de bakker op de hoek: heerlijke croissant en jus dโorange voor weinig.
Na het ontbijt maken we de planning op voor vandaag: starten met een wandeling door de stad, naar het uitkijkpunt van Nice en naar de haven. Na de tocht door de stad willen we eindelijk een duik nemen in de zee.
De wandeling was heerlijk. Helaas zat het weer niet mee. We waren nog geen half uur onderweg of het begon te regenen. Gelukkig geen harde regen, dus konden we wel doorlopen. Maar lekker is anders.
De klim op de berg verliep erg fijn, aangezien er geen zon op ons scheen die het nog iets moeilijker maakte. Vanaf de berg hebben we een prachtig uitzicht op de beide kanten van Nice.
Na de afdaling wandelen we door de haven en besluiten te gaan lunchen. Net op het moment dat wij weer willen gaan wandelen begint het weer te regenen. We trotseren de natte trottoirsโฆ
Helaas valt door de regen ons middagje strand in het water. We besluiten even terug te gaan naar het hotel. Daar regelen we vast ons hotel voor morgenavond (en dit keer wel gewacht totdat ik een bevestiging heb ontvangen) en bedenken we wat we vanmiddag willen gaan doen. We besluiten om maar wat verder de stad in te duiken en via een gigantisch omweg in het hartje centrum uit te komen.
Wanneer wij in het centrum aankomen is het tijd voor het diner. Als we deze achter de kiezen hebben halen we toch ons toetje weer bij Hรคagen-dazs. Zoโn klein ijsje heb ik nog nooit gezien!
In ons hotelkamer kijken we nog even een paar afleveringen van Friends, waarna we lekker gaan slapen om morgenochtend weer fris in de auto te stappen naar onze volgende bestemming.
