Inmiddels is het twee weken geleden dat ik Edwin heb uitgezwaaid op Schiphol. Na ja, uitzwaaien was er niet bij. Op het moment van afscheid nemen trok ik het zo slecht dat ik na de dikke knuffel en kus direct ben weggegaan. Geen kwellingen op het moment dat hij achter de douane zou verdwijnen.
De eerste twee weken zijn eigenlijk best snel voorbij gegaan. Maar dat neemt niet weg dat het mij zwaarder valt dan ik dacht. Momenteel zit ik namelijk ook thuis om aan mijn scriptie te werken en te wachten tot het 1 oktober is, zodat ik weer kan beginnen met werken. Doordat ik zowel overdag als ’s avonds veel thuis ben, realiseer ik mij steeds meer dat het stil is in huis. Geen moment dat ik lol kan maken, geen moment dat ik mij belevingen kan delen, geen moment om even te knuffelen. Best vreemd.
Contact houden met Edwin gaat niet geheel zoals we in gedachten hadden. Vrij weinig locaties waar Edwin via de Whatsapp kan communiceren. Het enige moment dat wij contact kunnen hebben is wanneer hij op zijn hotelkamer is. Dan kunnen we bijkletsen via Facetime. Toch is het best vreemd (mooi dat het kan natuurlijk, beter dan een telefonisch gesprek) om via een beeldscherm met je vriend te communiceren. Maar op de momenten dat hij in zijn hotelkamer is gaat hij daarna óf weg om te eten óf naar bed. Daarbij komt ook nog dat ik dan wel thuis achter mijn MacBook moet zitten. Straks als ik weer aan het werk ga zal dit allemaal nog lastiger worden. Ik ben absoluut niet zielig, maar het is toch vreemd om te weten dat je zolang zonder elkaar moet.
Om mijn zinnen te verzetten ga ik volgende week een paar dagen naar Londen. Lekker in mijn uppie door de stad slenteren en enkele musicals bekijken. Toch kijk ik liever uit naar 18 oktober, want dan vlieg ik naar Shanghai om Edwin weer live te zien.
