Voor de zekerheid hadden we beide onze wekkers gezet, maar allebei waren we al voor de wekker wakker.
Na een ontbijtje, een douche en het sluiten van de koffers is het nu echt tijd om naar beneden te gaan en de taxi richting het vliegveld te nenem.
Ik ben best een emotionele trut op bepaalde momenten (dank mam voor deze genen). Wanneer we wegrijden van het hotel stromen voor de zoveelste keer over mijn wangen.
Op het vliegveld gaat het natuurlijk weer niet zoals het zou moeten gaan. Ik, met mijn domme hoofd, geeft bij het inchecken aan dat ik twee stuks bagage heb. Dit doe ik overigens omdat de meneer bij het zien van de eerste mijn een sticker gaf. Dit gaf mij het gevoel dat ik deze echt nodig moest hebben. De meneer wil graag mijn handbagage wegen: 17 kilo en 12 is toegestaan. Gelukkig heb ik in mijn grote koffer nog wat speling. Helaas is deze wel al verdwenen op de bagageband. We wachten een klein kwartiertje en mijn koffer is weer terug. Na het overgooien van mijn bagage zijn alle koffers en tassen op het juiste gewicht. Ik krijg alleen niet zo’n stikker voor mij tweede handbagage. Dit hele ritueel had dus niet gehoeven.
Inmiddels is het tijd om naar de gate te gaan en afscheid te nemen van Edwin. Wat verschrikkelijk om te weten dat je elkaar weer zo lang moet missen.
De vliegreis was een hel. Omdat het deze keer geen nachtvlucht was, was ik niet zo moe en kon ik niet echt slapen. Mijn MacBook hield het ook niet de hele reis vol en echt comfortabel is die langebenenplek ook weer niet.
Weer terug in Nederland heb ik het Hollandse gevoel snel weer terug: Regen, zuurkool en kou in huis.
Ik duik thuis, na een kop thee, snel onder de douche en duik lekker m’n bedje in. Het is immers voor mij 04.00u ’s nachts.
Ik heb spijt. Spijt dat ik niet gewoon drie maanden met Edwin ben meegegaan en dat wij samen dit avontuur meemaken!!
