En natuurlijk zijn we deze ochtend erg vroeg wakker. Ik keek om 5.00u al voor het eerst op de klok. Gelukkig heb ik het nog kunnen rekken tot 6.00u, maar toen was ik wel klaar met wakker liggen.
De ochtend begon met de zoektocht naar een supermarkt. Dit hotel is exclusief ontbijt, dus moeten we dit voor ons zelf regelen. Hier blijken wij heel goed in te zijn. Na het vinden van de juiste supermarkt, zat ook redelijk snel de winkelwagen vol met (vr)eten. Vanuit de achterklep van de auto genoten wij van heerlijke broodjes.
Nadat we onze buikjes hadden gevuld zijn we op zoek gegaan naar een parkeerplaats bij Miami Beach. We hebben een lekkere lange strandwandeling gemaakt in de warmte. Gelukkig was het water af en toe verkoelend.
Op Ocean’s Drive hebben we de eerste de beste tent opgezocht voor en flinke verkoeling. Enkele honderden meters verder zijn we neergeploft voor een lunch.
Na de lunch zijn we met de auto naar Down Town gereden om daar een wandeling te maken. Het duurde even voordat de nieuwe, tijdelijke, reisleider de werking van een plattegrond doorhad, maar uiteindelijk heeft ze ons netjes de weg gewezen. De volgende keer hoopt de rest van het gezelschap wel op wat meer uitleg gedurende de tour…
Na een heerlijke verfrissing zijn we naar Bayside gegaan. Hier hebben we lekker rondgelopen.
Onze volgende bestemming was een gigantische shopping mall. Hier kunnen we ons wel uren vermaken. Na een diner in de food court zijn we enkele winkels afgegaan. Het bezoek aan de shopping mall wordt afgesloten bij de Cheesecake Factory. Na een flink stuk cheescake, waar ik nu nog steeds vol van zit, rijden we weer naar huis en ploffen we neer op ons bed.
