Voor de ochtend had ik de wekker om 6.10u gezet. Bij zonsopgang schijnen de dolfijnen hier goed zichtbaar te zijn. Voordat de wekker af kon gaan was ik al wakker. Celeste zat al te wachten en moeders was al op het strand. Toen Celeste en ik bij de zee aankwamen zagen we al twee dolfijnen zwemmen. Dit was dus een goed begin. Na een half uur zitten bleek dat het hoogtepunt al lang geweest was. We gingen maar ontbijten.
Na het ontbijt en uitchecken zetten we onze reis voort naar Clearwater. Hier maken we een boottocht met wederom als doel om dolfijnen te spotten. Eerst even in een klein half uurtje proberen een lunch naar binnen te werken en dan snel naar de boot. Meteen mijn videocamera installeren en maar hopen dat ik voor de goede kant heb gekozen.
Wanneer we net de haven uit zijn gevaren zien we de eerste dolfijnen als zwemmen. De kapitein van de boot gaat er op af en zet de vaart erin. De dolfijnen, moeder met baby, springen achter de boot aan. Echt geweldig om te zien. Helaas voornamelijk aan de verkeerde kant. Gelukkig heeft Celeste met haar iPhone een ze wel op film gekregen. Later varen we de echte zee op. Helaas blijkt ook hier dat het hoogtepunt als snel voorbij was.
Na de boottocht drinken we een drankje en gaan op weg naar het hotel.
Nadat we ingecheckt zijn gaan we op weg naar St. Petersburg (niet verwarren met St. Pete’s). Hier bezoeken we de pier en drinken een drankje.
Voor het diner heeft Celeste op de kaart een Italiaan gevonden. Allemaal zijn we het ermee eens dat we daar gaan eten. Als we vantevoren wisten hoever het lopen was en dat er een wachttijd bij het restaurant was van twee uur waren we misschien met een ander idee gekomen. We moesten dus op zoek naar een ander restaurant. Gelukkig vonden we deze in de haven. En we hebben heerlijk gegeten.
Voordat we teruggaan naar ons hotel eerst nog even boodschappen doen bij de supermarkt. Bij ons hotel drinken we een drankje en gaan daarna lekker naar bed.
