Na het ontbijt en uitchecken gaan we weer op pad. Vandaag staat Crystal River op het programma.
Op een gegeven moment komen we aan bij een natuurpark. Vol enthousiasme kopen we een kaartje en wachten we op de boot die ons naar het park brengt. De eerste desillusie hebben we al te pakken wanneer we, na 10 minuten wachten, net niet aan de beurt komen om de boot op te gaan en we verwezen worden naar de tram. Deze zou na twee minuten komen, maar helaas moesten we hier wederom 10 minuten wachten.
Als we in het natuurpark aankomen, blijken alsnog alle dieren achter een hek te zitten. Voor ons valt dit meer onder de categorie dierentuin. Na een klein uurtje rondlopen hebben we er genoeg van en gaan we weer naar de auto.
Edwin regelt voor ons wel een natuurpark, richting Crystal River. Het heldere water willen wij toch wel graag zien. We komen aan bij een parkje waar een mooie route uitgestippeld staat. Deze volgen we en opeens staan we na 10 minuten weer bij de auto. Blijkt dat we het korte rondje hebben gelopen. We wagen een tweede poging en nemen het grote rondje. Deze zal ons ook leiden naar de Crystal River. Plotseling staan we voor een afgesloten brug en kunnen we wederom geen helder water zien.
Dan maar een poging maken om met de auto bij de rivier te komen. Ook dit lukt ons niet. We geven de moed op en gaan op weg naar het hotel.
In het hotel neem ik even wat tijd voor mezelf en ga op de kamer een boekje lezen, terwijl de andere bij het zwembad liggen.
’s Avonds dineren we heerlijk bij Applebee’s en als afsluiter doen we op de hotelkamer van papa en mama nog een drankje.
