Na een heerlijke nacht, wel een beetje warm, maar wel lang, beginnen we de dag met een ontbijtje in het hotel. We besluiten om in de ochtend de toerist uit te hangen en in de loop van de middag weer terug te keren naar het hotel voor een plons.
We gaan met de tuk tuk naar Grand Palace. Wat een ervaring. Dat ding gaat als een malle. En met Alies los tussen ons in maakt het nog avontuurlijker. Maar Alies vind het geweldig en kijkt haar ogen uit.
Eenmaal aangekomen bij het paleis krijgen wij te horen dat we niet met blote knieën het paleis in mogen. Dan maar mooie kleding aanschaffen. Edwin krijg een mooie broek en ik een wikkeldoek. Wat zien we er prachtig uit. Gelukkig mag Alies wel met d’r eigen kleding naar binnen.
Binnen in het paleis hangen wij de toerist uit, maar al snel komen wij erachter dan wij onze eigen attractie bij ons hebben. Stuk voor stuk komen de mensen naar Alies toe, sommige zelfs om een foto te nemen of samen op de foto te gaan.
Gelukkig vindt Alies het allemaal maar best en blijft vriendelijk lachen en zwaaien. Ik ben benieuwd of ze dit drie weken vol houdt. Papa en mama hebben er eigenlijk na twee dagen al genoeg van…
We realiseren ons dat het toch wel veel warmer is dan wij aankunnen. Alies in inmiddels op mijn schoot bij het nuttige van een drankje in slaap gevallen. Zwetend nemen wij afscheid van het toeristische paleis en besluiten toch eerder terug te gaan naar het zwembad. Wat een goede keuze. Het zwembad begeeft zich namelijk op de twaalfde verdieping en vangt daardoor lekker veel wind.
Nadat we lekker geluncht hebben bij het zwembad nemen we een duik. Alies vind het weer heerlijk, maar ook vermoeiend. Dus tijd voor een tweede tukje. Lekker chillen bij het zwembad.
Edwin heeft via Tripadvisor een restaurant gevonden. Dus geen we weer lekker aan de wandel. Uiteindelijk komen we in een toeristisch winkelstraat waar het restaurant naast ligt. Na een lekkere schnitzel zijn alle drie de magen weer gevuld. We nemen de tuk tuk weer terug naar het hotel. Het is inmiddels donker geworden dus de afzichtelijke discolampen in de tuk tuk zijn goed zichtbaar. Alies vindt het maar prachtig.
Eenmaal terug in het hotel is het allang bedtijd voor Alies. Wij chillen nog even op bed en gaan ook op tijd weer slapen, want morgen is het tijd voor een fietstocht. Hopelijk is de temperatuur wat aangenamer…
