De wekker laten we vandaag voor wat het is, want we worden pas om 11u opgehaald. We hebben weer dezelfde taxichauffeur die ons van het treinstation naar ons resort heeft gebracht gebeld. Gelukkig kon hij ook een kinderzitje regelen, zodat Alies wat fijner en veiliger in de auto zat.
We ontbijten rustig met het idee om nog te zwemmen voordat we vertrekken. Maar we zijn vandaag zo langzaam dat zwemmen eigenlijk niet meer uitkomt. Dan nog maar even spelen in de villa.
Stipt om 11u komt de taxi aanrijden en kunnen we de lange tocht naar Chiang Rai gaan maken. Na een kleine drie uur komen we aan bij de White temple. Dit is een, zoals de naam al aangeeft, geheel in wit. Heel bijzonder om te zien. Ook de muurschildering in de tempel is prachtig met hele moderne aspecten, zoals Superman, the Matrix, Angry Birds.
Ook hier hebben wij weer onze eigen lopende attractie bij ons en wordt Alies weer flink wat keren op de foto gezet. Nu toch maar geleerd dat ze d’r handje op moet houden als de foto genomen is.
Na het bezoek aan de tempel tijd om een ijsje te eten en onze laatste deel van autorit voort te zetten.
Aan het eind van de middag komen we aan bij ons resort en nemen meteen een plons in het zwembad. Vervolgens een lekker douche en op naar Central Plaza: de shopping Mall van Chiang Rai.
We gaan als eerst op zoek naar een restaurant om te dineren. Lekker sushi! Daarna wandelen we nog wat in de mall om vervolgens af te sluiten bij de Starbucks.
Daarna lekker naar onze kamer om te slapen.
