De, inmiddels bekende, chauffeur komt ons deze ochtend om 9u halen om ons naar de Golden triangle te brengen. Eerst even lekker ontbijten in het hotel en ons klaarmaken voor de dag. Het heeft de afgelopen nacht flink geregend, waardoor de temperatuur iets aangenamer is geworden.
We hebben als eerste een tussenstop bij het Black house Museum. We lopen even rond om vervolgens onze weg te volgen naar de Golden triangle. We komen als eerste aan bij het viewpoint. Even een kijkje nemen van boven af.
Vervolgens gaan we naar het opiummuseum. Op internet hebben we gelezen dat dit museum het mooiste is van Thailand, dus onze verwachtingen zijn hoog gespannen.
Wat een teleurstelling! Best een prima indruk kunnen krijgen van de opiumhandel van vroeger, maar om nou te zeggen mooiste museum van Thailand? Niet echt.
Omdat we er toch zijn besluiten we maar een tocht je met de boot te maken over het water. Zwemvesten aan en gaan. Alies vindt het wederom weer geweldig die snelheid. En maar zwaaien naar alles en niets.
In Laos stappen we uit de boot: Been there, done that!!
We gaan weer de taxi in om vervolgens naar Chouifong Te Plantation te gaan. Hier eten we lekker in het restaurant met een prachtig uitzicht over de theeplantage. Inmiddels vinden we het wel weet genoeg geweest voor vandaag. We besluiten terug te gaan naar het hotel om eind van de middag nog even een duik te nemen in het zwembad.
Voordat we op zoek gaan naar een restaurant om te dineren gaan we eerst naar de speeltuin aan het eind van de straat. Even Alies los laten gaan.
We nemen een tuk tuk naar het echte centrum en komen terecht bij een lekker restaurant. Na het eten nog even over de night market struinen. Daarna is het allang bedtijd voor Alies en duiken Edwin en ik er ook snel achteraan.
