De wekker ging dus echt veel te vroeg: 5.30u. Dat zijn toch geen tijden? Alle bagage bij elkaar zoeken en op naar het ontbijt. De taxi hadden we gisteravond al geregeld, dus die stond netjes om 6.30u op ons te wachten.
Op het vliegveld aangekomen even inchecken, een donut scoren voor in het vliegtuig en een cappuchino drinken. Daarna kunnen we eigenlijk redelijk snel boarden.
De vlucht naar Bangkok duurt uiteindelijk maar een uurtje. Op het vliegveld aangekomen is de bagage er snel en kunnen we een taxi zoeken die ons naar het hotel brengt. We hebben een hotel dichtbij het vliegveld (dachten we). Ook hier hebben we een kleine inschattingsfout gemaakt op Google Maps. Al met al een 20 minuten onderweg.
Aangekomen bij het hotel is het eerst tijd om even te lunchen. Bunkeren bij het buffet is het geworden. Onder het mom: na de vakantie ga ik weer op mijn eten letten, vreet ik nu alles wat ik lekker vind.
Na de lunch is het tijd om even te zwemmen. De zon doet weer goed haar best en al snel vinden we het wel genoeg. Alies doet nog even een tukje in de wagen, terwijl Edwin en ik ons laten opdrogen in de schaduw (en stiekem ook even wegvallen).
Als Alies weer wakker is gaan we naar de kamer om te douchen en te spelen. Eind van de middag nemen we de shuttle naar een shopping mall in de buurt.
Hier lopen we rond en eten we ons diner. Daarna lopen we terug naar het hotel.
Even gek doen op bed en voor de laatste keer Alies in haar tentje stoppen. Wat zijn wij met z’n drieën blij met die prachtige slaapplek voor Alies gedurende de reis. Voor Alies altijd een ‘vertrouwde’ plek om te slapen en voor ons nooit zorgen of de slaapplek voor Alies wel fijn is.
