Vandaag begin ik de dag met een trip naar het huis van Laura. Jos heeft namelijk nog wat ruimte over in zijn koffer en ik vrees dat ik wat ruimte te kort ga komen. Dus ik geef hem alvast wat spullen die hij voor mij mee kan nemen naar huis.
Vanaf het huis van Laura ga ik slenterend richting het werk van Edwin.Via allemaal grote en kleine wegen kom ik terecht in People’s Park. Hier is een grote groep met kleine kinderen aan het picknicken. Voor mij een mooie gelegenheid om een aantal foto’s van hen te maken. Nadat de juffrouw mij had gespot vroeg zij of ik ook met hen op de foto wilde. Natuurlijk! Say Cheese en vingers in de lucht!
Met de lunch ga ik samen eten met Edwin en zijn collega’s. Eerst krijg ik van Edwin een korte rondleiding over zijn afdeling en word ik voorgesteld aan zijn collega’s. Om te eten gaan we naar een echt Chinees restaurant. Het was erg gezellig en het eten bleef maar komen. We konden allemaal niet meer, dus werd er uiteindelijk wat mee genomen in een doggy bag (overigens niet door mij).
’s Middags heb ik mijzelf even getrakteerd op een moment van rust. Ik neem even een powernap op de hotelkamer.
Voor het diner gaan we naar een Italiaans restaurant en lopen we via een flinke, bewust gekozen, omweg terug naar het hotel. Eenmaal daar aangekomen pakken we de koffers voor onze trip naar Beijing en Guilin.
