En de wekker ging wederom weer wat vroeg. Vandaag gaan we met de boot naar Gili Trawangan, een heel klein eilandje naast Lombok.
De taxi staat om 7u voor het hotel en brengt on naar de haven.
In de haven wachten we totdat we de boot op mogen. Gelukkig gaan we met een fastboat. Deze is met 1,5 uur op Gili. De ‘gewone’ boot zou er ruim 4 uur over doen. En met deze temperaturen wil je echt niet lang op een boot zitten. Gelukkig hadden we tijdens de 1,5 uur durende tocht airco en ging de trip voorspoedig.
Aangekomen op Gili gaan we eerst op zoek naar ons hotel. Aangezien op dit eiland geen auto’s rijden hebben we de keuze tussen paard en wagen en de benenwagen. We besluiten toch voor het laatste te gaan. Uiteindelijk bleek dat ons hotel niet ver weg was. Kon eigenlijk ook niet anders want het eiland is echt heel klein.
Nadat we in ons schattige hotel hebben ingecheckt gaan we terug naar het strand om lekker te eten en luieren. Als de avond valt lopen we een stuk over het eiland, drinken we wat bij zonsondergang en dineren we aan zee.
’s Avonds doen we nog een drankje op onze veranda voordat we gaan slapen.
