Vandaag is het Koninginnedag in Nederland en wasdag in Orlando. Na anderhalve week reizen was er behoefte aan schone kleren. De wasmachine en droger heeft vier keer gedraaid. In de droger werd niet alles kurkdroog, maar gelukkig hadden wij een waslijn en knijpers bij ons !!!!!!!!!! en die hingen wij midden in een van onze kamers.
Het weer was vandaag niet zo denderend, erg bewolkt. We besloten naar Animal Kingdom te gaan. Volgens Disney is dit geen dierentuin, ondanks dat er veel dieren zijn. Dit park is pas in 1999 geopend en werkelijk schitterend.
Schitterende shows waaronder het Festival of the Lion King, waar het liedje van Phill Collins, de soundtrack van de film The Lion King, You ’ll be in my heart, door een zanger ten gehore werd gebracht, terwijl alle beesten uit de film The Lion King op het toneel te aanschouwen waren.
Geweldige attracties waaronder Kilimanjaro Safari. Je gaat dan met een safaribus de wildernis is en komt dan verschillende wilde beesten tegen o.a. olifanten, neushoorns, krokodillen, zebra’s en giraffen.
In Maharajah Jungletrek ga je met een boot het oerwoud in en daar zie je ook allemaal verschillende dieren.
In Flights of Wonder worden er allerlei shows opgevoerd met roofvogels. Maar het allerleukste vonden wij de 3D-show It’s tough to be a bug. Net zoiets als Honey I shrunk the audience maar dan leuker. Natuurlijk ook omdat we deze nog niet kenden en niet wisten wat ons te wachten stond.
Om 17.00 uur zou de parade zijn. We hadden ons langs de weg al helemaal geïnstalleerd toen het ging regenen en de parade daarom niet doorging.
We besloten naar Downtown Disney te gaan om daar te eten en te winkelen.
Downtown Disney is The Place To Be. Hier vind je de grootste Disney-store ter wereld en ook Chris was niet weg te slaan uit de CD-shop Virgin. Deze was zo groot dat je je hier zeker een dag kan vermaken. We besloten te eten bij Wolfgang Puck een zeer exclusief restaurant. We besloten nog even met de bus naar Epcot te gaan om van het vuurwerk te genieten en de jongelui bezochten nog een keertje Testtrack. Om 23.00 uur waren we weer in ons hotel.
