Vandaag was een vroegertje. De wekker werd om 06.30 uur gezet en reeds om 07.45 waren wij op weg naar Miami. Onderweg zijn we maar een keer gestopt bij MacDonalds voor de lunch en reeds om 13.00 uur (inchecktijd 16.00 uur laadden wij de auto voor Hotel Dezerland uit. Dit hotel was in de jaren 70 stijl ingericht.
We besloten het mooie strand op te zoeken voor een duik in die schitterende blauwe en vooral lauwe Atlantische Oceaan. Er waren onwijs hoge golven, dit was dus echt Wakki Lauw.
Om 17.00 uur bezochten wij ons favoriete supermarkt Publix op om ons eigen diner samen te stellen. Vooral veel ijs werd er ingeslagen, van die heerlijke bekers met citroenijs. We hadden zoveel dat we dit niet opkregen en we besloten de enige overgebleven beker in het vriesvak van de koelkast van Edwin en Marsha op te slaan. ’t Moest helaas liggend gebeuren, want het vakje was te klein.
’s Avonds besloten we naar Bayside te gaan. Een heel gezellig winkelcentrum aan de haven van Miami. Er werd daar zelfs een tv-programma opgenomen. We hebben daar heerlijk gewinkeld en weer ijs gegeten. In het donker vertrokken we weer naar ons hotel en zagen toen de skykine van Miami by night. Werkelijk geweldig. Toen terug naar het hotel.
Marsha verheugde zich al weer op haar citroenijs, maar helaas. Toen zij de beker uit “haar” koelkast haalde was deze helemaal leeg. We vonden er dan ook helemaal niets van terug. Alleen wat water op de vloer onder de koelkast en Marsha dweilde op wat eens een verrukkelijke tractatie was geweest.
