Na het ontbijt kunnen we op weg voor ons uitje van vandaag. Op het programma staat de grand Canyon.
Na een ritje van 1,5 uur komen wij aan bij het National Park Grand Canyon. Als je het park inrijdt, kom je uiteraard niet direct bij de grote diepe kloof aan. Hier moeten we eerst nog een stukje voor rijden en lopen. Maar als we er eenmaal zijn: WOW!!
Het is echt een heel bijzonder fenomeen. Het is niet te beschrijven hoe bizar het is om boven aan de Grand Canyon te staan.
We beginnen met een kleine wandeling bovenaan de Grand Canyon. Best wel heftig dat je zo dicht bij de rand kan komen.
Na deze wandeling gaan we met de auto helemaal naar de andere kant van de Grand Canyon. Vanaf hier heb je weer een totaal ander uitzicht. Op de terugweg naar de uitgang stoppen we nog bij diverse punten om van de verschillende uitzichten te genieten.
Wanneer we bijna de uitgang van het park bereiken, zien we dat er een aantal auto’s stil staan. We vragen ons af wat er gaande is, maar op een gegeven moment zien we het: er staan twee herten langs de weg. Uiteraard even snel op de foto zetten!
Voor het diner besluiten we lekker snel een burger de halen bij de McDonalds bij ons in het dorp. Het zijn best lange ritjes zo. Wij, als Nederlanders vinden het als snel ver, maar in Amerika vinden ze een ritje van 1,5 uur niet zo lang. Ik kan jullie zeggen, ik vind het wel lang!
