Gisteravond mocht ik eindelijk Petra zien in de rol van Mrs. Danvers in de musical Rebecca. Deze musical speelt in Stuttgart, dus ik moest er een eindje voor rijden.
Op het moment dat ik het theater in kwam, stond ik al met trots naar het castbord te kijken. Hoe vet is het om daar de naam van Petra te zien staan onder Mrs. Danvers?!
Al snel is Petra op het toneel zichtbaar als Mrs. Danvers. Qua uiterlijk heeft deze rol heel veel weg van haar rol als Juf Andrew uit de musical Mary Poppins. Wanneer Petra begint te praten, moet ik even wennen. Er komt vloeiend Duits uit. Heel gek, maar bijzonder om te horen. Niet veel later begint Petra te zingen. Ze zingt het nummer “Sie ergibt sich nicht”. Een lading van trotse emotie overspoelt mij: traantjes gleden over mijn wangen. Tijdens de periode van Mary Poppins wist ik al dat Petra bezig was met auditeren. Eén keer kwam ze heel enthousiast naar buiten met een filmpje van “Sie ergibt sich nicht” (gezongen door Pia Douwes). Een paar weken daarna kwam Petra met trots vertellen dat ze was aangenomen in Stuttgart. Al deze herinneringen kwamen boven, nu zij daadwerkelijk dit nummer aan het zingen was. Wat een strot, wat een solo!
Ook de volgende nummers deden mij heel veel en moest ik enkele traantjes wegpinken.
Na een gezellige avond, korte nacht en een lekker ontbijtje was het weer tijd om de rit terug te maken naar Nederland.
Dit wil ik snel nog een keer.
