Vandaag staat Venetië op het programma. Vanuit Milaan is dat nog 2,5 uur rijden. Hiervoor hadden we de wekker vroeg gezet, zodat we op tijd op pad konden. Om 7.45u zaten we in de auto. Ik had het geluk dat ik deze rit mocht rijden (Edwin had gister alles gereden, dus wilde ook wel even bijrijden). Na ruim een half uur voelde ik aan mijn oogleden dat ik koffie nodig had. Bij de eerste mogelijkheid er maar afgegaan om een Latte te halen. Hierna was ik wakker genoeg om de rit af te maken.
In Venetië aangekomen zetten wij de auto in een parkeergarage. De plekken zijn hier niet zo ruim, dus maar hopen dat wanneer we terugkomen er geen deuk in de deur zit…
Venetië is erg leuk en gezellig. Eigenlijk moet je hier met een gondel door heen, maar dat is erg duur voor het aantal minuten dat je er voor krijgt. Wij besluiten dus op de voet Venetië te verkennen. Dat is al een uitdaging op zich. De steegjes zijn vaak erg nauw en lopen steeds weer over in andere steegjes. Een plattegrond is hier niet zo handig. Vandaag doen we het op gevoel (lees: Marsha d’r gevoel) en de enkele aanwijzingen die Venetië qua wegwijzers rijk is.
Staan we op 13.00u op het San Marco Plein (Edwin is erg heilig van overtuigd dat deze vernoemd is naar Marco van Basten…:p) komen we m’n ouders tegen. Zij zijn samen met vrienden op rondreis in Oostenrijk en pakken een stukje Italië mee. Toeval of niet!? Het antwoord is ‘nee’.
Na een gezellige en lekkere lunch met m’n ouders en vrienden nemen we weer afscheid en lopen we weer verder door Venetië. Als fotograaf kan je je hier de hele dag wel vermaken. Een hoop mooie Kodakmomenten!
Rond een uurtje of half vijf vinden wij het wel weer mooi geweest. Het slenteren maakt onze benen erg moe. Na een drankje op het terras besluiten we terug te lopen naar de auto en weer naar Milaan te rijden. Gelukkig heeft de auto de krappe plek overleefd.
In Milaan eten we in de buurt van ons hotel wat en duiken daarna onze hotelkamer in waar wij beide achter de MacBooks duiken om onze gemiste televisieprogramma’s te kijken. Edwin laat zich verrassen door de voetbaluitslagen van dit weekend en ik begin met de musical sing along.
