Het is alweer de laatste dag van de vakantie. Maar voordat we naar huis gaan hebben we nog een hele dag om Kuala Lumpur te verkennen. Het vliegtuig gaat namelijk pas vanavond om half 12.
Omdat we niet zo goed weten wat waar is besluiten we KL (zoals de Maleisiers Kuala Lumpur zelf ook wel noemen) door te gaan op de meest toeristische manier: Hop on Hop off bus. Het voordeel hiervan is dat je langs de toeristische trekpleisters van de stad gaat. Een nadeel is dat je soms lang moet wachten op de volgende bus na het uitstappen.
We beginnen de route tegenover ons hotel. Hier is de eerste attractie: KL tower. Hier hebben we wel de mogelijkheid om foto’s te maken in de openlucht. Na een klein rondje realiseren wij ons dat wij verwend zijn door alle voorgaande torens tijdens onze reizen dat dit uitzicht ons niet heel veel meer doet.
We maken tijdens de rit twee keer een uitstapje. Bij beide keren blijkt dat hetgeen wat we willen bezichtigen niet echt te lopen is of de moeite waard is om een flinke afstand in de hitte af te leggen.
De derde stop is tevens de laatste. We lunchen bij de Pizzahut, halen een donut bij Dunkin’ Donuts en wandelen rustig aan weer naar het hotel.
In het hotel kleden halen we onze bagage en kleden we ons om.
Bij het inchecken blijk ik nu echt het niveau Silver bereikt te hebben bij het spasrsysteem van KLM. Voordelen voor nu: ik mag twee koffers inchecken en ik mag naar een aparte balie. Fijn als er net een flink reisgezelschap voor ons loopt…
We hebben gelukkig nog tijd genoeg om even te dineren voordat we naar het vliegtuig moeten.
