We beginnen de dag vroeg. Op het programma van vandaag staat namelijk de fietstour van Co van Kessel. We moeten om kwart voor acht verzamelen dus we zijn lekker op tijd wakker vandaag.
De ochtend starten met een lekker ontbijtje in het hotel en om daarna op zoek te gaan naar een taxi die ons naar de verzamelplek kan brengen. Het blijft wennen om Alies tussen ons in los op de achterbank te hebben. We gaan er maar even vanuit dat er niets gebeuren zal.
We hebben een klein beetje vertraging met de taxi, maar we zijn nog net op het tijdstip binnen om niet te laat te zijn. We kunnen daardoor lekker snel vertrekken met de fiets.
Alies mag voor het eerst achterop de fiets. Ik dacht dat ze dit niet zo leuk zou vinden, vooral omdat ze meteen aan mijn kont begint te zitten, maar als we een minuutje onderweg zijn voel ik de handjes al niet meer.
Wat een geweldige fietstocht. We rijden door straatje die je nooit zou zien als je zelf op verkenning uit zou gaan. Schreef ik straatjes? Ik bedoel: we rijden door keuken van woningen van de lokale bevolking. We rijden met de fiets over de drukke markt. De eerste paar minuten gaat mijn mond steeds verder openstaan. Maar na tien minuten vind ik alles de normaalste zaak van de wereld en ben samen met Alies vriendelijk aan het zwaaien naar alle mensen die naar ons lachen en zwaaien.
Na drie uur fietsen in de ook erg warme ochtend is de tocht al weer voorbij. Jammer. Maar we gaan zeker in de volgende plaatsen ook proberen te fietsen.
Als we met een taxi terug zijn gebracht naar het hotel gaan we eerst lunchen in het hotel om daarna een tukje te doen (lees: Alies ligt weer heerlijk te slapen bij het zwembad, zodat papa en mama even kunnen afkoelen in het zwembad).
Natuurlijk mag Alies ook even lekker zwemmen om af te koelen. Slapen in de schaduw veroorzaakt immers ook een hoop zweet.
Aan het einde van de middag maken we ons gereeds voor een wandeling naar een shopping mall. In de shopping mall gaan we lekker eten en gaan we wat winkeltje af.
Met de tuk tuk gaan we ’s avonds weer terug naar ons hotel. Alies gaat lekker slapen en Edwin en ik gaan op zoek naar vervoer voor de volgende stop: Hua Hin.
We besluiten om niet met de taxi te gaan. We zien het niet zo zitten om Alies drie uur tussen ons in stil te laten zitten. Of moet ik zeggen: Alies heeft daar gewoon geen zin in?
We besluiten met de trein te gaan. Dit betekent wel dat we om 5.45u de wekker moeten zetten om de trein van 8.05u te hebben. Snel slapen dus!
