Vandaag staat het Elephant Nature Park op het programma. In het gebied waar ons resort zich bevindt stikt het van de olifantenparken.
Maar in al deze parken worden de olifant als vervoersmiddel om lui toeristen een ritje te rijden op de rug. Wij zijn daar geen voorstander van. Wij nemen liever een kijkje bij een mooi initiatief die mishandelde en gewonde olifanten opvangt.
We worden rond 10u opgehaald en rijden dan een kleine 10 minuten naar het park. De temperaturen buiten zijn al flink opgelopen als we bij het park aankomen. Eerst even een korte introductie in de schaduw en dan de open vlakte op om te kijken hoe de olifanten leven. De olifanten hebben hier een groot stuk grond tot hun beschikking.
We mogen met de olifanten op de foto, aaien en eten geven. Alies vindt het helemaal geweldig. โOlafโ en lachen!
Tegen 12-en eten we wat om vervolgens bij een andere olifantenfamilie te kijken. Het is behoorlijk heet en vooral als Alies in de draagzak om je buik slaapt dan worden de buiken lekker na t van het zweet. Tijd om terug te gaan naar het overdekte gedeelte.
Inmiddels in het bezoek ook afgelopen en worden we weer netjes bij ons resort afgezet.
Wij nemen op ons resort een lekkere duik in het zwembad en dineren ook op het resort. โs Avonds alvast de bagage inruimen, want morgen zetten we onze reis voort.
