Vandaag hebben we als eerst het Empire State Building bezocht. Vanaf verdieping 102 is het uitzicht over New York echt geweldig.
Na dit bezoek zijn we wat wezen shoppen rondom de Empire State. Natuurlijk mocht dan een bezoek aan Macy’s niet ontbreken. Dit is een reusachtig warenhuis. De Bijenkorf in Amsterdam is niets vergeleken met Macy’s. Helaas was het assortiment niet helemaal ons ding.
Vervolgens hebben we zonder doel wat rondgebanjerd door Manhattan. We zijn wat winkeltjes afgegaan, hebben in een parkje gezeten en hebben wat drinken gehaald bij Starbucks en MacDonalds, om daarna weer terug te keren naar ons hotel. Hier hebben we even relax gedaan en ons verkleed voor de volgende musicalavond.
Voordat we de theaters in mochten hebben we eerst genoten van een heerlijk theatermenu: een snelle hap. Hierbij moet je niet denken aan iets culinairs, maar gewoon aan de MacDonalds.
Na het ‘diner’ hebben we ons weer opgesplitst. Celeste en Marianne gingen naar The Lion King en ik mocht nar Wicked.
In het theater aangekomen viel m’n mond al open. Het decor was, met het doek naar beneden, al spectaculair. Ik had weer een mooie plek. De hele voostelling heb ik onwijs genoten. Wat een geweldige musical is Wicked. Ik kan niet wachten totdat deze naar Nederland komt.
Na de voorstelling ben ik naar Celeste en Marianne gelopen. Zij hebben ook onwijs genoten van hun musical.
Teruglopend naar het hotel vertellen we elkaar alleen maar prachtige verhalen over de twee top musicals die we gezien hebben.
We kunnen alledrie lekker slapen.
