Vannacht hebben we gelukkig wat beter geslapen dan gister. Waarschijnlijk omdat we een stuk moeier waren. Zo’n dag lopen is niet niets.
We beginnen de dag met een lekker ontbijtje in een tentje, waarna we met de metro onze tocht voorzetten naar het echte centrum.
Als eerste gaan we achter de theatertickets voor vanavond aan. Helaas is Les Mis nog steeds uitverkocht, dus besluiten we naar The Wizard of Oz te gaan. Hoop ik eindelijk achter de betekenis van de woordgrapjes in Wicked te komen…
We vervolgen onze tour weer met de benenwagen. Deze gaat ons vandaag grotendeels weer vervoeren. We wandelenlang de Themes aan de noordzijde naar oosten om via de Tower Bridge naar de zuidzijde van de Themes te komen.
Via deze zijde lopen we weer helemaal terug naar Londen Eye. Uiteindelijk zijn we toch al weer een puur uur onderweg.
Uiteraard zijn we ook de Londen Eye in geweest. Best hoog, maar toch maar weer bewezen dat ik van mn hoogtevrees af ben. Wat een uitzicht over Londen heb je vanuit hier.
Inmiddels begint het al donker te worden en verkleund zijn we al, dus gaan we op zoek naar een tentje waar we kunnen dineren. Natuurlijk kan de echte fish & chips niet ontbreken tijdens ons bezoekje aan Londen…
Het dessert nuttigen we weer bij häagen-dasz. Nadat we ons ijsje op hadden bleek er buiten ook ijs te zijn: het is hier in de UK ook begonnen met sneeuwen!
Gelukkig hoefden we maar een klein stukjente wnadelen voordat we bij het theater aankwamen.
Helaas had niemand mij gewaarschuwd dat wanneer je Wicked hebt gezien, je beter niet meer naar The Wizard of Oz kan gaan…Maar ik weet nu wel wat er in Wicked met de grapjes bedoeld wordt!
Eenmaal uit het theater bleek dat de sneeuwval had doorgezet. De straten zijn bedekt met een laag sneeuw. Over een pad van witte stenen volgen wij de route naar ons hotel!!
