De wekker gaat en we zien dat de lucht deels blauw is: we kunnen dus fietsen (of we daar aan het eind van de dag nog blij mee zijn…).
Na een lekker ontbijt rijden we met de auto naar het centrum, waar we twee fietsen huren. We besluiten de tocht te maken aan de linkerkant van het meer. De fietsen zijn ok en we hebben een lekker tempo. Het blijft wel recreatief fietsen! Na ruim een half uur besluiten we een kop koffie te drinken voordat we weer verder gaan.
We komen tijdens de heenweg veel vals plat tegen, maar opeens komt er een flinke heuvel aan. Met veel energie start ik deze klim, maar net een paar meter voor het einde is mijn vaart zodanig afgenomen, dat ik bijna geparkeerd stond. Gelukkig heb ik de top wel bereikt.
Ondertussen is de zon flink gaan schijnen en besluiten we de weg terug te nemen en onderweg een hapje te eten.
Na bijna 3 uur fietsen (excl. de rust periodes) komen we weer terug in het centrum van Genève. Aan het meer drinken we een drankje, waarna we op zoek gaan naar de McDonalds. Hier heb ik echt zoveel zin in!
Wanneer we de burgers naar binnen hebben gestouwd gaan we terug naar ons hotel. Daar nemen we een duik in het zwembad. Natuurlijk moeten we de onderwatercamera proberen. Deze hadden we graag in zee gebruikt, maar dat is er helaas niet van gekomen. Onder water ziet men er niet beter uit…
We duiken vroeg ons bed in, want morgen gaan we weer op weg naar de volgende bestemming.
